During its BlizzCon 2019 opening ceremony, Blizzard officially unveiled Overwatch 2. The game will feature all 31 of the original heroes plus new ones like Echo and Sojurn. The characters and existing maps will also have an updated look.
Take a look at the cinematic trailer below
The original game is primarily a PVP experience, but the sequel appears to be building around cooperative PvE content. We see players facing off against a multitude of computer AI enemies in both story levels and the hero missions. Players will also be able to level up their heroes by playing these levels and missions. They will also be able to customize their abilities.
Of course, the PvP modes and maps will remain, with Blizzard showing a new PVP mode called Push. We can also expect new maps and other heroes than the two mentioned earlier. Blizzard is also promising a shared multiplayer environment where no one gets left behind. Meaning players with the original overwatch can play with/against players with Overwatch 2. The maps and heroes will also be shared as well. Plus all cosmetics will come to Overwatch 2 as well.
At this time we have no information about the release date or what platforms it will release on. Blizzard said that the game is in development and more details will be coming soon.
