During this year’s The Game Awards, We got our first look at Microsoft‘s next-generation hardware – The Xbox Series X. The console is Microsoft’s next big powerhouse console set to compete with Sony‘s next-generation hardware – the PlayStation 5. On the topic of PlayStation, Microsoft didn’t make many changes to the already beloved Xbox One controller for the Series X. However they did take a page out of the Dualshock 4‘s design with the addition of a share button.
In an interview with Gamespot, Xbox Boss Phil Spencer stated that the addition of the share button was invented via the creation of the Elite Controller and reception from the fans. The Dualshock 4 share button was huge towards the success of the PlayStation 4, and it is one of the most beloved features on the console. If handled correctly, we are sure Microsoft will witness the same success with the Xbox Series X.
Stay tuned to The Nation for further updates regarding Microsoft’s next-generation plans and details.
