While some people were expecting Sony to reveal the PS5 console at CES, Sony actually surprised everyone with a concept car called Vision-S. It’s an electric concept sedan that will include different Sony technologies displaying their strengths.
Vision-S features 33 different sensors from the inside and outside of the car to create an advanced driver assistance system suite that Sony is calling a Safety Cocoon. It also has multiples displays across the dashboard utilizing Sony’s entertainment, 360 audio, with always-on connectivity.
Sony has parented with a number of companies to help with the process of making this concept car notably Continental, Bosch, and Magna. The design of the car has some resemblances to Porche Taycan and Lucid Air while the dashboard display is similar to the Byton M-Byte.
Now there is no word if this car will actually make its way into production and in consumers’ hands. It could just become a reference car that Sony will let other companies use on the platform. What do you think about Sony stepping into a completely different industry than they have before?
